Big Bear has a new ice skating rink!

Being in a high altitude mountain community with many winter attractions, you'd think that Big Bear would have an ice skating rink, wouldn't you?  Well we really haven't had a "major" rink since the late 70's!  Over the years we've had a few mini or temporary ones, the last one being constructed out of not "real" ice but some sort of plastic material that resembled ice.  You could skate on it and all, but it wasn't real ice.
It's a smaller rink, about 1300 square feet, but it IS ice and will be open 7 days a week for lessons or just recreational skating.  There's even some talk about a modified ice hockey  league in the future!
Opening Saturday April 13th we now have an indoor rink in our "Big Bear Funplex"   located at 40679 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake CA  92315.  Here is the link for more information on Big Bear's newest fun thing to do:
Just another idea of "things to do in Big Bear"!
